Make a Pennant Workshop
Make a Felted Pennant Workshop, using Cyanotype + Nunofelting!
As seen at Dublin Maker 2026!

Did you see our Cyanotype + Nunofelting project at Dublin Maker? Come and have a go yourself!
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create your own felted pennant using two under-utilised materials: Irish-raised wool and scavenged seaweed.
We’ll combine cyanotype printing with Nunofelting to create a unique textile piece. You’ll learn how to make a cyanotype print using seaweed and then incorporate your printed cotton into Irish wool using the Nunofelting technique.
No previous felting or cyanotype experience is necessary. All materials and equipment are provided, and you’ll go home with your own handmade felted pennant.
The workshop runs from 10 AM to 1 PM. We’ll also take a little break with homemade Plum Torte, tea and coffee. Please let me know in advance if you have any dietary requirements, such as gluten-free or vegan.
50 euros per person. Places limited to 6 students per session.
Age 15+: This workshop is suitable for participants aged 15 and over. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who remains with them throughout the workshop.

Inspired by Dublin Maker
This workshop grew out of the project “Where the Sea Meets the Land: See How Under-Utilised Materials Can Be Transformed,” shown at Dublin Maker 2026.
Dublin Maker is all about sharing the process of making and encouraging people to get hands-on, so this is your chance to take the project a step further and make your own piece.

There’s also a lovely video of the workshop by crafter Joanne Mooney on Instagram: Watch it HERE.
Come along, experiment with seaweed and Irish wool, and make something uniquely your own!
If these two classes fill up, I will offer additional ones in the fall. Contact julianegorman@gmail.com to be added to the Waiting List.
